Panasonic DMC TZ10 Reviews

Here are the most popular reviews of Panasonic Lumix TZ10 digital cameras.

TrustedReviews  features a TZ10 review and the camera receives 10 out of 10 points for  build quality and features with 8 points for image quality. They found the video quality to be good in decent light and they were impressed by the audio quality  of the footage. Also the Power OIS optical image stabilisation system gets appreciated and rated extremely effective. The verdict is straight forward:

The Panasonic Lumic DMC-TZ10 is a well-designed, solidly built and extremely versatile camera with a lot of useful features. The 12x zoom, optical image stabilisation, HD video and excellent low light performance are the main benefits, and manual exposure is a nice bonus. The GPS feature is a bit of a gimmick, and drains the battery too fast to be much real use.

Another great TZ10 review come from Photography Blog. They found the GPS feature improved over the older models but ometimes the user needs to  manually update the satellite lock whic affects the battery life. The 12x zoom is appreciated and the image quality is rated as “very good” with 4 points out of 5. The camera gets 5/5 points for features and gets the “Highly recommended”  award:

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 is an excellent travel-zoom camera, with the notable additions of manual shooting modes and GPS tracking sure to continue the TZ success story….

…There aren’t too many compact cameras that offer such a compelling combination of size, features, image quality and handling, easily making the TZ10 deserving of our Highly Recommended award.

Another great Panasonic TZ10 review comes from CameraLabs. They appreciate the big optical zoom and the compact body of the camera.  Also they appreciate the manual exposure controls, the good looking lcd screen, the HD movie recording and the new image stabilization system. Overall the camera gets 87% score and the “Highly Recommended” Badge :

Panasonic may no longer have the compact super-zoom market to itself, but the latest Lumix TZ10 / ZS7 remains a highly compelling camera that’s likely to sell by the bucket-load…There’s very little this camera won’t do

Another shorter review comes from PocketLint. They write:

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 provides a superb general snapping tool in terms of the subjects its lens focal length can encompass. Image quality is on a par with similar cameras and the features list is particularly impressive at the price too making the TZ10 great value for money.

Ricoh GXR with Leica Lens Mount

Ricoh GXR will have its own mount for Leica lens. Introduced back in late 2009, the GXR DSLR digital camera from Ricoh introduced an unique modular design. It makes use of an innovative slide-in mount system used to attach interchangeable units  that integrate the image sensor, image processor and the lens. This offered a better image quality as the lens and the sensor are tuned to work together and achieving the best performance. Last year the new GXR modular design was awarded with the ‘Innovative Imaging Product of the Year’ by Australia’s Camera Magazine.

The new mount will make the GXR users able to add new series of lenses (like Leica M) but losing the sensor-lens integration feature.

The mount will come with 12.9 megapixel CMOS sensor (APS-C size / 23.6 mm × 15.7 mm) and a new focal plane shutter.

As announced by Ricoh, the GXR Lens Mount Unit will be available in September with price to be announced.  You can get the Leica M mounts for about 240$ these days.
